Vision

About 10 years ago we were first introduced to the remarkable work of Dr Masaru Emoto. Dr Emoto developed a technique for freezing and photographing individual water crystals. Initially we were drawn to the innate beauty and diversity of the water crystals themselves. However very quickly we became fascinated by Dr Emoto's research into the way that water is affected by our thoughts, words and feelings.

This can be seen in the examples below (taken here from the Fujiwara Dam) where the shape and form of the crystals has changed after the water has received a blessing from Buddhist monks. Further investigation revealed that it was not the words themselves that were affecting the water, but the emotional resonance of the sentiments.

In the images below Dr Emoto shows that water exposed to the words 'love and thanks' in three different languages (English, German and Japanese) form water crystals that look almost identical - this indicates that love and thanks has the same vibration no matter what the language.

Have a look at the pictures below. Identical samples of distilled water were taken and exposed to the sentiments 1. 'Thank you' 2. 'You Idiot' and 3. both 'Thank you and You Idiot.' The pictures show that the form of the crystals are dramatically different depending on the thought influence to which they were exposed. The third crystal which was exposed to both 'Thank you and You Idiot' is a thin half formed crystal indicating that the power of 'Thank you' is stronger than the power of 'You idiot.' This suggests that positive thoughts are more powerful than negative thoughts, and that if what we think can do this to water, and we know that our bodies contain over 70% water then just imagine what influence our thoughts could have on our bodies and also on the world around us.

So through fully appreciating the innate beauty and diversity of the crystals we were led to look for a way to bring these amazing images to a wider audience. We decided that the most effective way of experiencing the full power and energy of the crystals was to create a series of art works. Having previously seen stunning paintings created using the giclee method of reproduction we chose this medium. It is the ideal way of capturing the full vibrancy and energetic quality of the crystals. The beauty of giclee art is in the unique way that the ink is applied to the canvas. Giclee prints (from the French 'to spray') offer exceptionally detailed and colour rich reproductions, and in recent years many major art galleries have chosen to display giclee prints instead of the original art. The giclee prints are of such high quality and the reproduction exact.

Having discovered that this was the perfect way of presenting the crystal images we began looking for partners who could help bring our vision to life. Jay and Andy of Spherics Multimedia were introduced to us within days of us beginning our search. It was their enthusiasm, creativity, knowledge and passion that made them the natural partners for Authentic Aquarius. The whole process of developing this vision has been rewarding, enlightening, exciting and great fun. Spherics have created this wonderful website and composed all of the music too!

Whilst working on the design of web site we discovered that Jay of Spherics is not only a web genius but that he is also an accomplished artist and composer. So the beautiful art works you see on our web site have been imaginatively and powerfully created by Jay Wood. At Authentic Aquarius we are immensely proud of the standard of our craftsmanship and the inspiration behind our entire range of paintings.

Our giclee 'paintings' are made using the highest-grade inks and art gallery standard canvasses. Once the paintings are dry the canvas is then stretched onto wooden mortised frames and gallery wrapped around the edges of the work. This means that the picture continues around the frame giving a contemporary look that does not require a picture frame.
